  • It’s for people recovering from mental ill health.

    You may have

    • struggled with anxiety during lockdown.

    • had a bad experience at work which left you depressed

    • been a carer, or experienced ill health which has left you socially isolated and anxious

    • experienced a bereavement or other life changing event that has affected your mental health

Whatever the reason for your mental ill health, our programme could be the answer to getting your life back on track.

  • You will work in our charity shop for 12 months and go through our retail training programme to improve your employability skills

You will have regular one to one meetings with our mental health support workers who will help you set goals, plan for the future, and monitor your wellbeing progress. They will support you with activities that you want to do but maybe are anxious about doing on your own.

In addition, you have the option to:

    • Get support with qualifications

    • Get advice from our advisers to build your resilience to cope with other problems you may have that are affecting your mental health, such as debt, housing and welfare benefits

    • Work with other partners to improve your wellbeing.

  • Usually 1 or 2 shifts each week. The shifts are 2 hours. You need to volunteer in the shop for 2-4 hours a week.

  • No. The programme is for 12 months only but during this time we will work with you to find alternative volunteering activities if that’s what you want to do at the end of your time on the programme.
